Abstract Porcelain Bowl
Adam Frew
A hand-painted porcelain bowl by one of Ireland's most well-regarded ceramicists Adam Frew. Adam makes clean, simple forms on the potters' wheel. His perfectly formed tableware is decorated in spontaneous mark-making, in contrast to the finely thrown porcelain. The combination of sharp lines, crayon scribbles, brush marks, and sponged back sections, reflect the energy and passion that Adam invests in his craft.
Each small bowl varies in design, the consistent feature being the abstract painterly style and the orange rim at the base. Adam uses rich teals, navy blues, and speckles of burnt orange to contrast with the cool white porcelain.
Each bowl measures 9cm in height and 13cm across the widest point. As each bowl is handmade, the dimensions may vary slightly. Sold individually.
We would recommend handwashing this item.
If you like this we think you will really appreciate Adam's flat white cups, which are also available in this abstract pattern.
Sustainability:
Adam undertakes each aspect of production himself, under the one roof! From making his own glazes, constructing the bowls and firing them. He recycles all of his unfired clay, and where possible biodegradable packaging is used to protect the finished porcelain pieces. As Adam works from his home in Northern Ireland, it's a short walk to the studio!
